What is SOE live?

Formerly known as SOE Fan Faire, SOE Live, held at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas from August 14-17, 2014, is a Sony Online Entertainment-sponsored event designed to allow players the chance not only to meet one another, but also many prominent SOE personalities. It's a great opportunity to meet the real people behind the online avatars and the game itself, as well as hear exciting announcements about current and future SOE games. Though attendees will have plenty of opportunity to mingle freely with one another and make new friends, they'll also have the chance to participate in a number of panel discussions and game-themed live events.

What does SOE Live cost and what's included in my pass?

We'll have a pass to suit most every need. Check out our Pricing Options for more details.



Friday, Saturday or Sunday Single-Day Pass:

  • Pricing: $49 until 5/12/14, $59 until 7/1/14, and $69 until 8/17/14
  • Valid from 9AM to 6PM on the day listed on your pass
  • Registrants who complete their registrations on or before May 12, 2014 will receive their badge in the mail! Please be sure to provide us with your correct mailing address during the registration process.
  • Pass holders will receive a goodie bag and commemorative in-game items
  • Pass holders will be granted access to the SOE MarketPlace, Game Room, Exhibits and Panel Discussion areas
  • Single-Day Pass holders CANNOT upgrade their pass to include Brunch with the Dev Team. A Premium pass is required for this upgrade.
  • Single-Day Pass holders will not be eligible to receive complimentary copies of the upcoming EverQuest and EverQuest II expansions. An Premium pass is required for this entitlement.
  • The Friday and Saturday Single-Day Passes are NOT valid for the evening events (SOE Live Kick Off reception, Evening Celebration and Grand Banquet / Costume Contest)


Premium Pass:

  • Pricing: $129 until 5/12/14, $149 until 7/1/14, and $169 until 8/17/14
  • Registrants who complete their registrations on or before May 12, 2014 will receive their badge in the mail! Please be sure to provide us with your correct mailing address during the registration process.
  • Pass holders will receive complimentary copies of the standard editions of the upcoming expansions for EverQuest and EverQuest II, plus a goodie bag and commemorative in-game items for their registered games. PLEASE BE SURE TO PROVIDE US WITH YOUR CORRECT STATION ID INFORMATION DURING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS. INCOMPLETE OR INCORRECT SUBMISSIONS WILL RESULT IN DELAY OF ENTITLEMENTS.
  • The Premium Pass is the ticket to an entire weekend of fun! Just as the name implies, attendees with an Premium Pass are invited to participate in all of the developer panels, round tables, tournaments, live quests, keynote addresses, SOE Live Kickoff Reception, Evening Celebration, Grand Banquet and Costume Contest.
  • Premium Pass holders also get the option to upgrade their pass to include Brunch with the Dev Team on Sunday, August 17th. Additional purchase required and space is limited to first-come, first-served.


Evening Pass $99 until 5/12/14, $109 until 7/1/14 and $119 until 8/17/14.

  • The Evening Pass is valid Thursday, August 14th from 7PM to Midnight, Friday, August 15th, from 8PM to Midnight and Saturday, August 17th, from 6PM to Midnight.
  • Registrants who complete their registrations on or before May 12, 2014 will receive their badge in the mail! Please be sure to provide us with your correct mailing address during the registration process.
  • Evening Pass holders are permitted in the SOE Marketplace and Registration areas at any time.
  • Evening Pass holders are NOT permitted to participate in panels, tournaments, live quests or daily keynote addresses.
  • Evening Pass holders will receive commemorative in-game items, if applicable, to their primary game, as well as a goodie bag.
  • Evening Pass holders will not receive complimentary copies of the upcoming EverQuest and EverQuest II expansions. An Premium pass is required for this entitlement.


Kids Pass – Free for children 12 and younger! (kids must be accompanied by a registered adult at all times)
  • Kids will be able to accompany their legal guardians to any event permitted by the pass holder’s registration type. (i.e., an attendee who registers for a Saturday Daytime-only pass can bring his/her child to all events permitted in the Daytime-only pass. An attendee who has a Premium Pass can bring his/her child to all events permitted in the Premium pass, etc.).
  • Certain areas of the hotel and casino are restricted and kids must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Kids, although free, will still need a badge. Be sure to let us know their first name(s) during the registration process!


OPTIONAL UPGRADE - Brunch with the Dev Team: $59
  • Join various members of SOE and the EverQuest, EverQuest II, EverQuest Next, Landmark, DC Universe Online, PlanetSide 2, and Dragon’s Prophet for Sunday Brunch, August 17th from 10AM to Noon!
  • Breakfast buffet will be served.
  • Attendees will be seated according to which game they chose as their primary game for registration—make sure you indicate your primary game during the registration process!
  • Premium Pass required and space is EXTREMELY limited. Registrants accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.


NEW THIS YEAR! OPTIONAL UPGRADE – Reserve your own 12-seat table: $60
  • YOU ASKED AND WE LISTENED! Secure seats for you and your guild, league, outfit or server-mates! For just $5.00 per seat, you can reserve your own 12-seat table and avoid the lines and scramble involved in making sure you all sit together!
  • This option will be offered for tables at the Kick Off Reception as well as the Grand Banquet (each reservation requires a separate purchase).
  • During registration, select and purchase the Optional Table Reservation upgrade(s).
  • Once your registration is received and your purchase is confirmed, the SOE Live staff will email you to confirm your table reservation.
  • That’s it! Just bring your confirmation email and up to 11 guests* to the “RESERVATIONS” Desk outside of the Celebrity Ballroom 30 minutes prior to the start of the event and you will be guided to your table!
  • *Each table guest must present a valid Premium or Evening Pass before being admitted to the ballroom. In the unlikely case that you have less than 6 guests at the start of the event, SOE reserves the right to fill in the empty seats at your table with guests or staff who are otherwise unable to find a seat in the ballroom.
  • Table reservations are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
I did not receive a confirmation email after I registered. Am I really registered?

If you did not receive a confirmation email after you registered, your registration likely did not go through. Please contact the SOE Live Team to check on your registration status. Also, be sure that you have an active, current email address.

When will my badge be mailed? If you registered on or before May 12, 2014, we will send your badge to you in the mail on or around July 14, 2014. Please allow 3 to 7 business days for U.S. mail and 5 to 10 business days for international mail.
I did not receive my badge in the mail. What should I do?

If you registered on or before May 12, 2014, and have not received your badge in the mail by August 1st, 2014, please email SOElive@soe.sony.com with your confirmation number so we can follow up. You can also check at the registration desk in the Mezzanine area after 2PM on Thursday, August 14th.

What is the badge pick-up process and what are the registration hours?

If you missed the early registration deadline of May 12, 2014 and did not receive your badge in the mail, badges will be available for pick-up onsite in the Mezzanine area of Planet Hollywood beginning at 2PM on Thursday, August 14th. Make sure to bring your registration confirmation (which will be emailed to you after you register online) and photo ID.

Registration hours are as follows:

  • Thursday, August 14th: 2PM – 7PM
  • Friday, August 15th: 9AM – 7PM
  • Saturday, August 16th: 9AM – 6PM
  • Sunday, August 17th, 9AM – 10AM

Can children attend this event?

Children can attend this event, but an adult must accompany all minors. Children 12 and younger can attend for free, but will still need to be registered with a badge. The cost for children older than 12 is the same as for adults. Please note that certain events and parts of the casino are age-restricted. Again, adults must accompany minors at all times.

My spouse and I both play SOE games. Should we list one of us as a guest? No. A guest is someone that does not play or have a subscription to any of the SOE online games. Each player should register individually to get his or her personalized Badge.
My spouse does not play SOE games but wants to come with me. What is the fee for someone that does not play?

The fees are the same for players and non-players alike. Attendees who want to experience all that SOE Live has to offer can register for a Premium Pass and/or upgrades, whether or not they currently play SOE games. Or, non-players may wish to just tag along for the evening events, in which case they can buy an Evening pass. If you are bringing a significant other who does not play SOE games, you will have the option to register him/her as a guest during the online registration process.

What about my hotel accommodations? You are responsible for making your own hotel and travel arrangements. We have arranged special accommodations with the hotel hosting our event, and you may wish to take advantage of these special rates! The SOE rates at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas are as follows, and include resort fees and complimentary internet fees!*:

  • Monday, August 11: $85
  • Tuesday, August 12: $85
  • Wednesday, August 13: $85
  • Thursday, August 14: $85
  • Friday, August 15: $129
  • Saturday, August 16: $129

*Rates shown do not include applicable taxes. Subject to availability. Complimentary Standard In-Room internet wireless connection limited to one device per connection (non-transferable) over the dates of August 11-19, 2014.

You can reserve your room online or call 1-800-223-7277 and tell the reservations agent you are with SOE Live 2014. Registrations not made through the SOE Live Room Block are subject to resort fees, internet fees and possibly different room rates.

What if I need to cancel my registration? Can I get a refund?

You can cancel your registration and receive a refund until 11:59 PM on August 1st, 2014. To cancel your registration, you can log into the registration website (link should be provided in your confirmation email or you can click the “register now” button on the SOE Live website) and follow the instructions to cancel your registration and get a refund. Once you have canceled your registration, your refund will be credited to the credit or debit card you used during the initial purchase. Please allow 5 to 7 business days for your refund to be posted to your account.

I am a Guide. Do I register under my Guide name or my player name? Please contact soelive@soe.sony.com for Guide instructions.
Can I wear a costume to SOE Live?

Of course you can wear a costume! In fact, we encourage it. Unfortunately, the hotel does not allow weapons (steel, wood, or any other simulated weapon that may pose a danger to yourself or someone else) in any public area. If you are found with a dangerous weapon in your possession in a public area, you will be asked to return the item to your room immediately. Is there a Costume Contest this year?

Yes! The annual Costume Contest is back, and this year we’re anticipating the entries to be better than ever! It’s time to show off your version of your favorite SOE game character. We invite you to come to SOE Live dressed as an NPC or as a character all your own.

Check the site for more details as we get closer to the event. With past entries that included animatronics, hand-tooled armor, and meticulous stitching, we can’t wait to see what you will come up with this year! Get out your sewing machines, glue guns, or soldering irons, and start working on your submission now. Spandex, chainmail or MAX suits, we want to see your creations!

What is the “Evening Celebration”?

Every year we like to treat you to a social event where you can relax and enjoy drinks and music with your friends! This is what the “Evening Celebration” is all about. Premium and Evening pass holders are invited to enjoy an open hosted bar and dancing from 8PM to Midnight. Three drink tickets per person for Premium and Evening Pass holders that are 21 and older with valid ID. Location to be announced.

Will food and beverages be served during the event?

Food and beverages will be served at certain events for Premium and/or Evening pass holders:

  • Kick Off Reception, Thursday, August 14th: Light snacks/appetizers (Premium or Evening pass required)
  • Evening Celebration, Friday, August 15th: Drink tickets and cash bar available from 8PM to Midnight (must be 21 or older with valid ID - Premium or Evening pass required)
  • Grand Banquet, Saturday, August 16th: Buffet Dinner (Premium or Evening pass required)
  • Brunch with the Dev Team, Sunday, August 17th: Breakfast Buffet (Premium pass and brunch upgrade required)

For the remainder of the time, attendees are responsible for getting their own food and drinks. There will be cash bars available in the Mezzanine during exhibit hours, and cash bars will also be available in the Celebrity Ballroom during the Kick Off Reception and Grand Banquet. If you choose to purchase more drinks at the Evening Celebration after your drink tickets have been used, cash bars will be available as well.

Will attendees receive in-game items this year?

Of course! Anyone who registers for a badge will receive an in-game item for their registered games:

DC Universe Online - 2 Vegas Style items:

  • SOE Live 2014 'Vegas Style' Sign: Bring the lights of Las Vegas to your Personal Lair.
  • SOE Live Slot Machine: You've got to get one of these! Pull the lever and find out how much you won!

PlanetSide 2 SOE Live Bundle - Includes 5 items:

  • Nanite Systems’ AutoBlade: A full-featured utility knife. Its oscillating motor slices through tough materials with ease, while the integrated Lumifiber strips provide enough light for cutting wires in the dark.
  • 2 sets of Camouflage: Wildcard and No Limit
  • 2 Vehicle Decals: Cash Out and Max Bet

EverQuest:

  • Guise of the Ancient Gods: This will be an illusion item that gives players the appearance of the ‘Ancient’ version of the original EverQuest gods.

Dragon’s Prophet:

  • Dragon Name: Lady Vox
    • Egg Name: Vox's Egg
    • Player Title: Permafrost’s Protector
    • Type of Dragon: Ancient, stats similar to Lord Nagafen with an emphasis on Intelligence
  • Dragon Soul Ability: Horn of War - Grants the Player a 5% movement speed increase while on the ground and a 10% movement speed increase while mounted. The buff lasts for 1 hour and the DS ability has a cooldown of 10 minutes. The buff is cancelled if you die.
  • Dragon Skill: Wind of Permafrost - Lady Vox breaths forth a chilling blast of icy wind dealing damage and freezing opponents.
I already registered for a Day or Evening Pass, but I’ve decided I want to upgrade to a Premium Pass. What do I do?

Online, any time before August 1, 2014: Go back to the Cvent website (link should be provided in your confirmation email or you can click the “register now” button on the SOE Live website, and click on the “Already Registered?” link in the top navigation bar or at the bottom of the page. From there, you’ll be prompted to enter your email address and confirmation number (provided in your confirmation email). Once you are into your registration details, you’ll need to cancel your existing pass and purchase the new pass at the current price (you will be refunded 100% of the original purchase price and then billed for the new pass at the current pass price as a separate transaction). If you have any questions or problems, please contact soelive@soe.sony.com.

In-person on or after August 14th, 2014 at 2PM: Bring your confirmation email to the walk-in registration desk and let them know you’d like to upgrade. They will collect the difference in registration price at that time.

I already registered for my badge, but I need to make a change to my registration. What do I do?

Online, any time before August 14, 2014: Go back to the Cvent website (link should be provided in your confirmation email or you can click the “register now” button on the SOE Live website, and click on the “Already Registered?” link in the top navigation bar or at the bottom of the page. From there, you’ll be prompted to enter your email address and confirmation number (provided in your confirmation email). Once you are into your registration details, you’ll be able to make certain changes. If you have any questions or problems, please contact soelive@soe.sony.com.

In-person on or after August 15, 2014 at 2PM: Bring your confirmation email to the walk-in registration desk and let them know you’d like to make changes to your pass. They will walk you through the rest of the steps.
